“ This is an authentic Mexican restaurant in Calumet city. The menu is written in Spanish, everybody speaks Spanish and a little bit of English. The portions are huge. The guacamole and pico de gallo are superfresh and delicious. They specialize in beef steak, cecina. They serve beer and drinks. They also have mexican soft drinks. Authentic atmosphere with hand-painted murals on the walls. ”

“ I went to lunch with co-workers. They kept bragging about the homemade tortillas at La Cecina. We snacked on chips and salsa while we waited for the entrees. The salsa has a kick. I ordered the Fajitas de Pollo. The chicken was perfectly prepared, but the onions, peppers, tomatoes, and avocado enhanced the flavor of the fajita. The tortillas are the star of the show. I also tried the grilled thin steak and enchiladas. I did not finish my meal which included a side of rice. Even though our group was large, the timing of the meal met my expectations. If you want authentic Mexican food, dine at La Cecina#2. By the way, the leftovers held up well. ”
